Primary Computing - Face to Face

Bursaries are available to state-funded schools to participate in courses during the day.  The course fee is £35 per day, but bursaries are available at £220 per day (1 bursary per school in a given academic year).

Introduction to primary computing

An excellent course for primary computing teachers who are new to the subject or its leadership. This CPD covers the whole computing curriculum at an introductory level, including programming essentials using Scratch.

This CPD seeks to broaden your understanding across the whole key stage 2 computing curriculum.

Primary programming & algorithms

This course takes you on a deep dive into the world of programming.  You will learn about debugging, sequencing, repetition, selection and variable use and the common misconceptions that hinder pupil progress. Along the way you will discover a range of different teaching techniques that are all supported by research.

Assessment of primary computing 

This course aims to improve teachers’ knowledge of their pupils. Through a range of in-lesson and summative assessment approaches you will confidently evaluate learning in computing. It recognises the different school contexts and guides participants to apply techniques and tools that work with, not against, the wider school ethos.
