Post Graduate Teaching Apprenticeship (PGTA) and Salaried Routes into Teaching

In that time, we are proud to have trained over 700 teachers, many of whom are working in your schools and academies today. We are driven to inspire the next generation of teachers to make a difference to the life chances of our young people.
Post Graduate Teaching Apprenticeship
The Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship (PGTA) is an initial teacher training route that combines practical teaching experience with theoretical learning.
It is designed for individuals who wish to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and become qualified teachers while working in a school setting.
Apprentices are employed by a training school and receive a salary throughout their training. The employing school can use the apprenticeship levy to pay for the cost of the training.
Salaried Route for Initial Teacher Training
The salaried route is also a paid teacher training position that combines practical teaching experience with theoretical learning.
It is designed for individuals who have experience working in schools that will enable them to take on the role of a salaried trainee.
Salaried trainees are employed by a training school as unqualified teachers. The employing school will pay the salary and training fees.
Further Information & How to Apply
With both the PGTA and the salaried route, trainees are responsible and accountable for their classes and will have a significant teaching timetable from the start of the programme.
Applicants for the above routes will need to be endorsed by their training school. The training school will need to contact us directly for more information and to arrange an application.
